Just something i heard this guy talk ab out once :)

No, I don't really go for books much, but I think for javascript I probably would. Sounds odd but I would like to read it in a leisurely fashion if you know what I mean. Relax over a good programming book...

does anyone know of any java script books that can teach you the basics but also go on to more serious stuff.
I dont know to much html so it would be good if the book helped out with some of that first
I have looked into buying javascript for dummies but there doesnt seem to be a recent version of it but something similar would be ideal

JavaScript is one of the most widely used web development languages.JavaScript is a very powerful and easy to use scripting language that runs on both Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, and can be incorporated into any standard HTML document that will then run in any web browser on any operating system. With JavaScript, you can build sites that look hotter and work smarter. It is very useful.

Whether you are just starting out with Javascript or are at a fairly advanced level you will probably find one or more of these books useful.
